Illinois Republican Senate candidate Craig Wilcox celebrated the Air Force’s 71st birthday with a social media post honoring that branch of the armed services.
“It was an honor to be a part of 24 of those (71) years, serving in the greatest Air Force that the world has ever seen,” Wilcox, who is running against Democrat Mary Mahady for the 32nd District seat, wrote on Facebook.
He then recited the Air Force Core Values of “integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all we do.”

The Northwest Herald recently reported that Wilcox trails Mahady in campaign fundraising.
“At $26,111, Mahady’s funds surpass Wilcox’s $24,532, according to Illinois Sunshine,” the article states.
District 32 includes the communities of Crystal Lake, Harvard, Marengo, McHenry and Woodstock.
